it took me forever to get sound working on my new system ... but i still
have 2 problems...

first, my sound is very 'tin can' sounding ... and i've fussed with the
settings (in the program that came with the installation for this soundcard)
a lot, but i can't get what i want ... in some applications, sound is
perfect (winamp, all my music sounds perfect), and in others, it's awful
(half life 2)...

secondly, the software no longer recognizes when i plug headphones into my
front panel ... so there's no signal ... i was hoping to have the headphones
mute the speakers when inserted

any help appreciated
