- Recover Encrypted Folders/files
- Posted by Test Person on September 5th, 2005
Hi,
I have two physical drives on my computer: C and D; drive C is where I
install the OS and drive D is where I store all my files. Taking advantage
of the file encryption feature in XP Pro, I encrypted some of the folders on
the D drive. Last week, I reformatted my C drive and reinstalled XP Pro as
a clean install. Stupid me, before doing this, I should have either decrypt
the folders in drive D or export the certificate to a flash drive. Well...I
didn't and now, I can't open any of the encrypted folders on drive D and
without the certificate, I can't recover them either. Anyone has any idea
on how to do this? Any suggestions is very much appreciated.
Thanks!
