registering XP
Posted by Pete on December 13th, 2003

I installed windows XP on my computer and every time I turn on the computer
I am required to register with microsoft so that the program will begin.
They tell me that I have thirty days to do this and I have already done it
six (6) times.

Thanks in advance

EricP came up with this:

So, you are running a pirated copy? Not very smart to expose your personal
information to everyone...

No, you need to ACTIVATE it.

If you haven't ACTIVATED it, but REGISTERED it, then you'll keep
getting the "ACTIVATION" prompt.

If, however, you HAVE Activated it, and it's asking for activation
again, call Microsoft ...

Not necessarily ... for instance, if you use the Dell XP upgrade CD
on a Dell, it won't ask for activation.
