Saving MP3 files to CD as MP3 files
Posted by Mighty Magpie on April 4th, 2008

Hello, I'm sorry if this has been asked previously and sorry if it is also
the wrong NG for this question but can someone please help put me out of my
misery?

I have about 5gb of music files on my PC which are saved as MP3 files. I
would like to save them as MP3 files, onto CD's or DVD's if possible.

I seem to recall that I did this once before but I have no idea how I did it
or more importantly, what program I used. I don't want to save them to a CD
so that I only get about 15 tracks per disk etc and that is all I seem to be
doing at the moment.

I have Nero 6 and I thought there was an option on there somewhere to make
an MP3 disk but I can't find one.

Please help if possible even if it is only to suggest some alternative
software to do the job.

Cheers,

TIA

Many thanks for the reply and I will try it.

As it happens, I have now found out how to do it with Nero 6 and have saved
all of the tunes onto a DVD as MP3 so that will do me nicely.

They don't play back via my home DVD players but that doesn't worry me too
much as I really just wanted them saved to disk as a backup measure

Thanks again

Hmm. Have you checked you can play them on the PC (reading them from the
DVD of course)?

I hadn't tried until you mentioned it, which of course I should have done.

But in any event, they play back fine via my PC

As I mentioned in a previous email, I was really only interested in having
them saved for backup purposes. If they did playback on my home DVD player,
that would have been a bonus but it's not a major problem that they don't.

Cheers
