See through browser window
Posted by Spongebob on October 13th, 2003

Hi all.
When I click on a link in say Google or whatever, the window opens
up but it is see through, and will not open, even when maximised.
If I copy and paste the URL into the address bar it works.
Any ideas please.
Thanks for any help.

Hi and thanks for your suggestions so far.
Not having much luck at the moment though.
Everything seems to be as it should be in file types etc.
Tried entering several of the texts in "run"
Don't feel confident enough to mess about in the
registry.
May have to re-install IE.
Any other suggestions please.

Try repairing IE? Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel...click
"Add/Remove Programs"...click Microsoft Internet Explorer...click
Add/Remove...select "Repair Internet Explorer" click ok.

Noticed that when checking and renewing the file types as suggested
on the URL supplied, I wasn't getting the "apply" option.
Tried to repair IE, went through the motions but still the same result.
Also noticed that all my webpages (my site and d/l pages) on my HD
were all text files and would not open in a browser. (panic)
Tried to repair IE again with the same result.
Went for the option to "revert to previous version of IE"
This would take me from v5.5 back down to v 5.0
Booted up and...................back to normal.
Just have to put v5.5 back on, and away to go.
Thanks for your quick replies and help folks.
Appreciated.
All the best to you.
