Setting up a computer
Posted by -=zZz=- on August 16th, 2003

All, I have my dads computer and I am currently upgrading his dial-up
connection to use cable. My mom suspects my dad is having some online
affairs and asked if there were a way to set up his computer so that
she could monitor it from another computer without him knowing. He has
a firewall and antivirus running. I'm not that advanced to set up a
computer like that. Any tips or links to tell me how to do this for my
mom would help out alot. She wants to see his desktop and access files
like she saw in some movie or tv show. Beats me, I only have a day or
two to get this back to him.

TIA
ZZZ

if he is using msn o ICQ mesengers, the conversations can be logged. In
other words, all details of all conversations. She may not want to know all
this though.
Will that help?

Yes it can be done quite easy with the right remote software
and configuration. I do it sometimes myself with the wife.

But do you know what- Do you really want to split up ur parents.
Tell you what~~~~its his Pc `so let him do what he wants _._._._._._._.
That way everyone stays happy.//

I find it hard to believe that a mother would solicit her child's aid

I agree, But both my parents whether they be Hippocrites or not,
raised me properly. If dad is doing something he shouldn't be than
I'm all for bringing him down. As for my mom, She caught him in the so
called
real world doing and is still with him. Trust me, she's not going
anywhere. She just wants to prove to him that she is not stupid.
I don't know about these other guys, but I'll go to the ends of the
world for my mom. Even if it is to put my dad in check!

Only a dirt ball would do something like that.

"I do it sometimes myself with the wife." You're a hypocrite, too.

Then stay out of your parents issues.

Thats an adult matter, for your mother to handle in an adult manner,
without getting children involved!

Then she should hire an adult like a private eye to do her dirty work.

You were not raised properly, if you can say the above!

I feel sorry for you and your family.

So you have both convicted him of "online affairs", already then?
You are just looking for the nail in the coffin? If your mother
is genuinely concerned, she should talk to your dad. What you
are proposing is despicable.

I know. I'm still whirling!

In the long run, it's the kid that is being hurt. What a sad thing for
a mother to do to a kid. But, of course, the kid doesn't see it this
way.
She/he wants to protect the mom.

Sad. Sad.

You have his computer, no doubt you and your mother have already checked his
system and found nothing to use against him yet you still feel it necessary to
take this opportunity to spy on him.
I hope you set your mother up in the same way to keep the game on an even keel,
and see if she is whiter than white.
Your father has trusted you, someone far more savvy than him, with his computer,
and this is all you can think of doing?
Don't you think that if he had something to hide, the last person he would trust
to have free access to his computer would be his own family members.
Checking someones activity on your computer is one thing, spying on them using
their own computer is something else.
