- show desktop icon
- Posted by Quiz Time on May 22nd, 2006
On my last pc with XP pro, service pack 2, I had an icon in the bottom of
the pc (to the left of the screen just to the right of the START icon) which
minimised everything so i could see the desktop. On my new pc, again XP Pro
service pack 2, its not there, and i'm really wishing it was there, so much
easier to navigate and minimise windows with one click etc.
How do I get that back?
Tony

Are you talking about the Show Desktop button on the Quick Launch toolbar?
Apologies if you already know this.
You can add the toolbar by right clicking on the taskbar at the bottom of
your screen, go to Toolbars and select Quick Launch. It will appear with
the default icons, which you can delete or add to. You can drag any
shortcut to this toolbar and have it accessible all the time. Very useful

a laptop & can't get used to using the touchpad so after this I now don't),
tried getting it back in various ways, eventually copied the same icon from
Win 98 SE & added it to the toolbar - works perfectly & is correct.
If you'd like me to send it to you, I'd be happy to.
