my pc is slowing down. typing is slow and it freezes running Internet
Explorer.
I checked and svchost is using 99 percent of the cpu.
Any ideas whats going on ?
Using Windows XP , 1 gb of memory.
Have scanned for virus using AVG.
Checked for spyware using ad-aware

Possibly was just done and wouldn't fix the problem it would just
defragment the drive in effect doing little to help. The problem most
likely is the startup programs by the clock. Most consumer desktops come
with tons on nonsence loaded into startup that do nothing useful other
than slow the computer down.
