Someone, somewhere, must have solved this problem...
Posted by A Shropshire Lad on November 13th, 2005

I have Windows XP home on a recent Mesh twin processor PC. Loads of
everything - 2gb RAM etc plus all the service packs

Also has a problem I have had before on other PCs... I can't always connect
to the net (ADSL D-Link modem wireless router) when I start up the PC.

Often have to restart from scratch.

BUT

Mozilla will connect, as will my online backup and various other things. Not
IE or OE though.

I have tried everything I can think of and everything that anyone has
suggested.

PLEASE!!! CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS????!!

I bet other people must have this problem too?

Thanks all

Steve

For me, most of the time the computer has always been on dialup and I
have to tell it to never dial in, probably wouldn't apply in your
situation though.

I dont know if this is applical but if you are using a router your MTU
might be set to high, winxp defaults it to 1500 while some routers
require 1450's ranges. Also be aware that windows security center
tries to auto-start every reboot <here anyways> cause it doesnt
recognize mc scappe as a security center.
