By "posts", I assume you mean email.

I gave up on Norton as I just had too many instances of problems with it.
What operating system are you running?

Try this, Stephen. I don't use anything like this so wouldn't know if
it works or not. If the serial don't work, repost here & I'll try for
another. Good luck.

get a new email address ..
and don't post it online.

so have a list of all your contacts, and email them that you changed
your email add.

And get twitchy if they frequently send you CC junk to many email
addresses, or worse, if you get emails saying X sent you an invitation
- it means they entered your email in some site. So if they do that,
then email them back telling them not to..

some people "munge" their email address, so the email address they use
to register on Google groups might be
John@NOSPAMyahoo.co.uk or
john@REMOVETHISyahoo.co.uk
or something cleverer, with an english explanation in their sig of how
to email them.

Main source of spam is simply -you- putting your email address
online. Typically on a web forum, or moreso, on usenet. Software
crawls around, sees email addresses and sends you spam.

The junk you get from entering an email address to a site, is
generally far less terrible, and you can unsubscribe from it.. Though
I would use a junk email address when entering info to sites.

You cna make great use of Googlemail or as their older email addresses
are called, Gmail. You could forward email from one account to
another.. For example,
you could have an email address for ebay, and that forwards to another
email account - could be another googlemail account.
So if your ebay account email address gets messed up, then you just
register another one. But your main in account is still fine.
You will have to check all your email accounts from time to time
because if an email goes into the bulk folder, it won't get
forwarded..

BTW, With yahoo, You can also retreive via POP, and even retreive
email from the bulk folder, or prob any folder.. there is an addon
that lets you do that even though officially yahoo do not allow POP
access. Googlemail allows POP access, and there may be a hack that
lets you retreive email from the spam folder too..
Forwarding is thus more limited..

it will, question is for how long will it be good for..

it could last years.. maybe decades, it could outlive you. But a few
other points..
but to keep it from going bad, A few more points. (besides ones
mentioned like not posting it anywhere on the web)

if there is someone with the same email address as you before the @,
and they posted their EM add around, then you may get spammed.
Because software that goes around collecting email addresses might
read osama@yahoo.com , and then it will spam osama@hotmail.com , as
well as osama1 osama2 and perhaps osama102. They don't care if an
email address doesn't exist, so they try alot. So consider that
when choosing an email address. OR, if you get spam, that could be
possible cause.. So maybe use unique words

Also, I know some people that left their hotmail address because of
spam. Whether that is because of a bad spam filter or lots of spam ,
or both. I don't know. And I don't know what caused it for them..
They switched to Yahoo.

I can tell you that an issue with yahoo, is their bulk filter can
catch email that is blatantly not spam. They block some SMTP servers
quite liberally, including popular ISPs, and they change from one day
to the next.. It could be a blank email, but since they filter it on
smtp server used, it gets sent to bulk.
So if you send yourself an email . And say you use OE(outlook
express), and typically that uses your ISP's smtp server. Yahoo might
put it in the bulk folder.. You then check the email and the header
says specifically which SMTP server yahoo have blacklisted.. You could
then contact your ISP , who probably have a direct line to yahoo and
can tell yahoo off. But they do it to lots of legit ISPs
I may even have sent myself a blank email from my yahoo address, to my
yahoo address, and had it gone to spam.. I am not sure.
But since my email address doesn't get much spam, I can check it, it
is no big deal

Open a Yahoo Mail account, it's free.

Change your Primary Account with your ISP or wait for the spam to die down.
(If you change you account with your ISP, you w2ill have to notify friends
and family.

ANYTIME you go online, use your Yahoo Mail account to log on. Sign in to
whatever service you like with the Yahoo Mail account. Have people you
actually care about what they might have to say contact you on your Primary
Account.

Eventually, the spam will flow to Yahoo Mail, and stuff you want will flow
to your ISP account.

PS
Substitute Yahoo Mail with any free email service, then never look at it
again.
