FYI, all but two (alt.computer and alt.os.windows-xp) of the groups you
listed are most likely the result of my replies to messages that were
crossposted by the OP to those other groups, not my "visiting" them,
subscribing to, or otherwise participating in them. Others are simply other
people that also use the nickname "thor", but are clearly not me when you
look at the headers. I haven't directly participated in any of those groups,
except the two I pointed out. Given the effect of replying to crossposts,
you need to dig a little deeper if you want a more accurate picture of where
a person "hangs his hat" so to speak.
- Posted by Lloyd Jones on September 15th, 2004
There millions who post to unset I didn't check the headers so may have not
visited those groups..
They had man@arms.com as the invalid email though.
Anyway Thor we haven't had a good relationship (via the internet obviously)
most of your post are helpful. That's if your not criticizing me..
Can you recommend any good shareware Anti Trojan Programs?
If you can accept a *Internet handshake*
Cheers.

Here's more thorough research. :-)
Based on posts in this group, on or about 8/12/04 you changed your message
reply address from "@yahoo.com" to Temporary_J66At_SPAM_KILLER@hotmail.com.
Searches for the name Lloyd Jones in combination with those two addresses,
indicates that you have unique posts in the following groups, and no
evidence of crossposting, so indications are strong that you have
participated in these groups directly. (and that you apparantly have a
massive penchant for pirateware, LOL!). There may be more, but I opted to
not check every single page of search results.
frequented groups with approximate post totals
alt.computer (354)
alt.astronomy (161)
alt.hacking (121)
alt.2600.hackers (267)
alt.cracks (747)
alt.2600.crackz (54)
alt.music (1)
alt.test (1)
via crosspost replies you evidently have a few posts in at least these
following groups, but probably didn't participate directly in them:

alt.certification.a-plus
alt.fan.art-bell
sci.astro
sci.physics
sci.skeptic

Your research is wrong Thor.
The only groups I visit out of the one's you stated is:
alt.computer
and
alt.astronomy
And I think I sent one to alt.test a while ago.
You do know that there are many people with the name Lloyd Jones and use the
same initials LJ in the world right??
I was right about the groups you have visited though.
So no *hand shake*
That's ok.

yes, many did, but you also must look at the other groups that those
messages were crossposted to, to deduce where the originating message came
from. You'll find that all the posts in the groups other than the ones I
aknowledged to have posted to directly, there are several groups crossposted
in those messages, along with alt.computer, which is the group from which I
read and replied to them.
Nope. I just use decent antivirus programs like Etrust, and Avast. Never
really had a need for trojan-specific scanners.
I don't have a personal issue with you Lloyd. Just some of the advice you
have given on occasion, and the public service announcement-type posts. I
responded accordingly. You should realize by now that if someone thinks you
are wrong in what you posted they will typically tell you so. I think you
mean well enough, unlike some who have frequented this group from time to
time, who simply want to stir things up and be a troll.
I can accept a handshake, no problem. Doesn't mean I won't reply negatively
to one of your posts in the future, though. Just don't take it personally.
Many here have had some real flame-wars on occasion and still manage to get
along in the long-term.

Around 8/11-8/12 you changed servers or services, and started using the
reply address Temporary_J66At_SPAM_KILLER@hotmail.com, and furthermore, just
prior to switching, in this very post, you even started directing replies to
this new address, while still using the old usenet service, header info and
reply address info in your headers, thus clearly connecting the two sources
for "Lloyd Jones" posts over the last several months and in the groups I
listed.

It's all out there on Google for the world to see, and evaluate for
themselves. I don't particularly care whether anyone thinks I made direct
posts to the groups you listed or not. I just pointed out the error in your
assumptions. It was you, who put up a ridiculous denial when I showed
accurate research on your post history in contrast to your own lackluster
fact-checking, which evidently did no more than link my fake reply address
and a newsgroup title, disregarding all other indications of origin and
circumstances. If I wanted to skew my results using your logic, then I would
have dispensed with the second list of groups, and instead claimed that you
also visited the 15 other newsgroups that your posts appeared in, ignoring
the obvious fact that they were the result of crossposted replies, not
participation in those groups directly. Frankly Lloyd, when you first posted
that list of groups, it seemed to me that you were trying to infer something
about my posting habits, or somehow intimidate me with your "masterful"
search skills, so that's why I replied with similar but *accurate* content,
to show you how it's really done. I replied with that info *before* getting
your "handshake" message, so perhaps I mistook the tone and intent of your
first post. Regardless of how I judged your intent, my research was
accurate, and you decided to flat deny the truth of it, which forced me to
post overwhelming evidence to the contrary to support my position. If you
don't like the fact that people can see all the groups you post in (let
alone match the headers up), I suggest that you learn how to alter your
headers with the X-NO-ARCHIVE statement so Google won't archive your posts.
Then you won't be leaving so many little breadcrumb trails all over Usenet.

Thor the fact of the matter is I done some research on you which is correct
you have visited most of the groups I listed in the last 3 months and you
felt you had to do some back.
That's fine, I would do the same thing.
You put effort in to researching me probably about 2 minuets if your as
smart as you think. It's a common feeling you experienced. Anger/Revenge
maybe Ego.

Yeah, I *KNOW* you do.
Never claimed you did.
I'm starting to have one with you.
Uh, huh. I suppose you can explain why it so happens that *every* post
authored by me, that shows up in the groups you list, is a *crosspost*
message? You think that I visited all those groups posted to them, and that
somehow, by some strange happenstance, they were always a crosspost message?
And not just that, but they also by some random coincidence, all happen to
contain alt.computer in the list of crossposted groups? Some really scary
stuff there Lloyd. I can't for the life of me explain why alt.computer would
be the one common group name that runs through each and every one of those
crossposted messages, in every one of those groups. Unless, perhaps, could
it be? I WAS REPLYING IN FREAKING ALT.COMPUTER THE WHOLE TIME JUST LIKE I
TOLD YOU?
Shit man, you really are thick headed, or just plain desperate to salvage an
