- Tiscali Broadband - Any good?
- Posted by sjh on March 20th, 2006
I'm considering changing my Internet service provider to Tiscali.
I'm with Freeserve at the moment, but they have just stopped their
newsgroup service. So I'll be changing to an ISP that provides a half
decent newsgroup service.
Any help appreciated.

I'm on Tiscali. No real issues, but sometimes have to wait a minute or so
for a NG message to appear. If it were a bottle of winr, I'd buy it again.

I have a very close friend who was on Freeserve. He switched to zen.co.uk, and
is quite happy with their service. However, he uses Giganews, and not zen's
in-house news server. Its retention stinks and if you download binaries, there's
a lot of incompletes. Because of their outstanding regular service, though, he's
quite happy with this setup.

at Zen."

I'm with Zen, and they are good. ADSL max service only now available to new
customers. Unlimited BB had ended with Zen, £24.99 for up to 8MB 20GB cap.
or pay more (think it's over £30 for 50GB cap)

"Why do some messages take a while to appear"?
Any tips from seasoned Tiscali customers to the newbies?
