Trouble deleting d/l file
Posted by O.Phooey on February 29th, 2004

The file is a link to d/l a game. I can't seem to delete it. Never got
the d/l, cancelled it, but this file won't go away. BPHPacificWarrior.
If I click on it, it tries to connect to d/l the demo, but doesn't. I
can't find it, or Valusoft (the developer) in my reg. In dos it's
called BPH~.1 EXE. Any hints?

Since you've already been to DOS and (supposedly)
gleaned the file's name, go back to DOS and delete
it from there. But be SURE about the name, as
DOS names are usually 8.3 (or 6~X.3) characters.
To delete it, just type:

del bph~1.exe

(But I doubt that name is correct).

I had tried the dos/win shell before I posted and it didn't work.
I tried safe mode suggested here and no go.
I rebooted into DOS and was able to delete it from there. Thanks folks
for your help. All of you. What a great resource. Been using it for 10
years and beyond....
