upgrading RAM

I presently have 512 DDR PC2100 (133Mhz) of Ram in a single stick with room
for another stick. I can buy 512 DDR PC2700 (166Mhz) will it cause a
conflict will I benifit. I have a P4 2.4MHz with Win XP Home

The ram will run at the bus speed of the slower stick, so use the same type
in both slots.

more memory will help. Otherwise, no, it will not help.
Yes, you can 'usually' mix the ram speeds, but all will run at the speed of
the slowest stick.
