What newsreader meets my spec????
Posted by calmaven@gmail.com on April 6th, 2006

1. Free/Low cost
2. Secure Socket Layer (SSL) capability required
3. Will batch download pictures from selected messages to specific
folder

NoMad Newsreader is excellent for my needs, but doesn't support SSL,
unless I missed something.

Suggestions?

Windows? You didn't say.

But stunnel will let you use any news reader with SSL, so it might open up
your selections.

OE supports SSL; I've been using it to connect to my NNTP provider's
servers for several years and have never had an issue with it.
