What in the world is this?!??

Strange if you ask me... I noticed my recycle bin had something in it so i
emptied it. asked me if i wanted to delete these "24" items, said yes. It
still had something it it so I tried to empty it again. Now it asks me "Are
you sure you want to delete 'WINDOWS'?" I was like WTF? Surely this cant be
my windows folder. clicked no and opened the recycle bin and nothing was in
it. tried to empty it again and clicked yes and it said "Cannot delete
windows, cannot read from the source file or disk". Scheduled a scan disk
and rebooted, found no problems and returned to windows (XP Pro) with
something still in the bin, tried to empty again with the same thing, still,
nothing shows up in the recycle bin and my windows folder is still in tact
where it should be in C:\. Virus? thanx for your help, as far as everything
else, the system seems to be running fine.

You have a corrupted recycle bin (or file within it).
Open a DOS box and type:

( If your system is FAT32 )
cd \RECYCLED
attrib -R -A -S -H /S /D
chkdsk /F /R /X

( If your system is NTFS )
cd \RECYCLER
attrib -R -A -S -H /S /D
chkdsk /F /R /X

Empty the bin again, if necessary.

Or just put a blank folder in and delete it...
