window size on explorer 6
Posted by Forest Duck on November 18th, 2006

Hi,
I know this is simple, I just can't find steps to correct.
My explorer opens with a small window. It use to open nearly full page. What
steps to take to get it to do this again?
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Under "normal" circumstances:

Maximize (the button with the square, between the the button with the
underscore and the button with the red X, upper right group) > close (the
red X) then reopen.

If not, Open > Maximize > Ctrl + Close > reopen

You can also adjust the size by Open > grab (click and hold) bottom right
corner > drag (pull by the corner to desired size) > release > Ctrl + Close
and then reopen and it should be the size you closed it.

I bet when the neanderthal kids would make a snowman,
someone would always end up saying,
"Don't forget the thick, heavy brows."
Then they would all get embarrassed because
they remembered they had the big chunky brows too,
and then they'd all get mad and eat the snowman.

Won't work - the OP needs to DRAG the window to the correct size.

Nope - the OP needs to adjust: grab: drag: ctrl+close: reopen.
OP said desire was to Open to size, not DRAG to size.

Yeah - but to get the window to open in normal size automatically, the OP
needs in the first instance to DRAG the window to the correct size, and not
to use the "maximise" button. If the "maximize" button is used, it won't
stick.

WTF are you on about? The OP doesn't want a maximized window, and you
cannot "DRAG" a maximized window to another size.

The maximize/ctrl+close/open/resize/drag/ctrl+close/open exercise is to
both free up whatever happened that the OP didn't see or understand, and
demonstrate in such a way as it's easy to remember how/why to
do/undo/redo/construe/ado the controls if it should ever happen again.
Which it likely will.

(^; I suspect *it* worked all along, Bob. You just have to work it a couple
of times to get the bit down pat.

To me, truth is not some vague and/or foggy notion.
Truth *is* real! And, at the same time - unreal.
Fiction and fact and everything in between...
Plus some things I can't even remember -
all rolled into one big "thing."

This is "truth," to me.
