I am trying to run a disk at my work computer. This exact disk ha
worked several times before, but now it's giving me the error "*Window
cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could b
using a format that is not compatible with Windows." N*othing abou
this disk hs changed since yesterday. I have tried rebooting th
computer, with and without the disk in the drive. I believe it is
CD-R/W drive. This computer is running on Windows XP, and Service Pac
2 has been installed. Any suggestions

it's a cd-r, just has data on it. again, the same disk worked in th
same drive yesterday, and nothing about either has changed since then
the computer was shut down overnight, and now it does not work. th
cd-r was burned with windows CD creator

it's not so much that it doesn't work, its that it used to work and no
it doesn't. i tried the cd on a different computer and it opened i
fine

detergent and drying it off. Somtimes this will fix a disk that can't
be read. Floppy disks when they go bad usually stay bad.

it is a CD-R. it works in other computers. i believe this is a proble
with the drive or the operating system, not the disk. i'm sure i'm no
the only one familiar with the problems SP2 causes with windows XP,
am thinking this could be another one of them
