I've posted all the given info presented by the software suggested.
I've eyeballed the mobo and confirmed the visual health of the capacitors.
Having (probably) lost the mobo manual in a recent housemove hardly
classifies me as out of my depth.
I may not be a Computer Scientists but Computer Architechture and hardware
were present in my degree.
I'm very capable of following written instructions.
If my PS is the cause of this then all I need know is: is there a piece of
software that can measure the output/performance of my PS. Would save me
unscrewing this one, getting another and testing CPU voltages... but if need
be then I will.

ok thanks.
I'll grab a PS tomorrow and try that to see if affects CPU voltages.

Hot air. You didn't even know where to look for the temperatures!

Written instructions remember
If I knew these things I wouldn't have come to Usenet to find out.

I/O voltage 1.6
Core voltage 1.75

If I've missed/yet to find a reading them let me know which/how.

It's near impossible for somebody to give written instructions
about your particular (potential) hardware faults, across an
electronic medium. Even a competent technician would need
physical access to the machine for a complete, and proper
diagnosis.

Yes but we've moved on since then.
I asked if there was a way to check output/performance of the PS for someone
without access to electronic measuring devices.
I was told no so tomorrow I'll try another PS in the afflicted set-up and
see if that makes any change to CPU voltages.
Thanks

That's the right thing to do ... or, you could spend hours trying to
diagnose it instead of unscrewing a few screws and disconnecting a few
connectors.

Most stores will let you return the new PS if you don't need it, and they
cost perhaps $20-30 except in the ripoff palaces.
