Wireless Broadband Routers....
Posted by Colster on September 15th, 2003

Hi All,

I'm trying to locate a 54Mbs Wireless ADSL Router with built-in 10/100
4-Port Switch and ADSL modem - thus providng an always on internet
connection for wired and wireless clients.

I can easily find them without a built-in ADSL modem - bundling sepearate
ADSL modems - but the combined options appear to be out in the next few
months.

On this basis I have a few questions:

1) If I choose the modem and router bundle, can the modem be plugged
straight in to the router without the need of a PC, or does that depend on
the modem itself?

2) Even though it's BT's Business 500 assume it will still be terminated to
RJ11?

3) Which would mean I need an RJ11 to RJ45 converter depending on the
choosen modem/router?

I intend to make a phone call to ADSLresource and/or Broadband Buyer for
their advice, but any impartial advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Colin
