- word 2002 problem
- Posted by berksposter on February 21st, 2004
Hi, a friend is using word2002 sp1 and has a problem.
whenever he opens word, it opens with a page of gibberish that he typed some
time ago. He must have saved it or something. I have tried to get it to open
with a fresh blank page using the newdocument icon (white piece of paper)
but every new page opens with this gibberish.
Is there anyway to reset word back to some default setting. I have tried
"repair" in the tools menu (i think) but it still does it.
How do i get rid of all the "history" etc? Has he saved it somehow as a
template or something and it is loading everytime?
Hope someone can help,
BP.

Do a find for Normal.dot and delete it. All of them. Make sure word is
closed.
For most word-processing I use Abiword and don't have these problems.
You can get abiword here:
