XP Pro/XP Home

Please help.

I have 2 HD's on this PC, both have ample space etc.
One has XP Home installed, the other HD has XP Pro.
When I installed XP Pro I believed I needed dual boot
capability and not thinking ahead I put it on as drive 'D'.
I have come to the conclusion I didn't need XP Home as
I never used it. I also have Win98SC on the XP Pro HD.

I decided to eliminate XP Home but it has turned out (to me)
not that easy. Before formatting or running Fdisk I disconnected
the HD with "Home' on it. Upon booting error message arose
telling me a needed file 'NT----' was not found. Thinking I had
made a mistake I reversed the procedure on the other HD and
had the same error. I'm now thinking if I format and/or Fdisk the
'Home' HD I will also lose the 'Pro' OS.
Where am I going wrong and how can I remove XP Home without
losing XP Pro?
Both OS's are legal and I have spent all day trying various solutions
without success.
