Zonealarm causes BSoD
Posted by Ernest on December 26th, 2005

Hi, Ive currently rebuilt my system and reinstalled Windows XP Pro. I
have:
Abit NF8-V Pro (Nforce 3 250gb)
1 GB DDR RAM
Athlon 64 3000+
ATI Radeon 9600 XT
old 60 GB HDD

I have not been able to install some Nforce Drivers (spec. IDE
controller and GART driver) because it causes the system to hang before
the XP loading screen. All the devices are installed correctly and
running, as indicated in Device Manager.

As part of my install steps, I installed Zonealarm Pro. Upon completion
of installation, I recieve a BSoD, and instantly shuts down, so I was
not able to read the cause of the screen. So after this, I uninstall
Zonealarm in safe mode, and the system functions properly again. I then
looked in Event Viewer and foiund 4 error messages, saying:
-"The description for Event ID ( 5003 ) in Source ( TrueVector Service
) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary
registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a
remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to
retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The
following information is part of the event: LoadNTDeviceDriver, This
service cannot be started in Safe Mode"
(The next one was repeated 3 times)
-"The description for Event ID ( 5007 ) in Source ( TrueVector Service
) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary
registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a
remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to
retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The
following information is part of the event: File "C:\WINDOWS\Internet
Logs\IAMDB.RDB" was corrupt and has been copied to "C:\WINDOWS\Internet
Logs\xDB3E.tmp". File "C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\IAMDB.RDB" was corrupt
and has been deleted.."
With the sourse of the problem as the TrueVector Service.
What is wrong, and what should I do?

Thanks alot.
Ernest

Reinstall Zone alarm, reboot then uninstall Zone Alarm, reboot and
don't do that again. If there is anything left over from this crapware
go to this link and read
