COLOURS
Posted by Ty on April 18th, 2006

I noticed on one of my computers my task bar is Blue and the other is Grey.
I looked under Display Properties and under the "Appearance" tab there is a
pull down called "Windows and Buttons" and one of my computers shows in the
pull down 'Windows XP Style' and 'Windows Classic Style'. The other computer
only has 'Windows Classic Style'.

Any ideas why and/or how I can fix it.

Is the themes service running?

Start
Run
Type "services.msc"
Scroll down find it
Set to automatic and start it

What options are available from the 'Themes' tab???..........compare this
tab between the two computers, my guess is this is where they differ. But,
I have been wrong before.....

No!?! <g> We've all be wrong - once or twice. If I had a nickel for every
time I've been wrong... Well... I'm sure I'd have quite a few nickels. If
they were quarters though I'd be able to play a bunch of video games.

I think - the drop down menu only has classic according to what I'm reading
in their post - that it's likely the themes service disabled but I've been
wrong once or twice before too. Okay, so really I'm only responding so that
I can say hello. That and I'm curious as to how it turned out because I
only gave on possible answer in the answer I gave them.

How are you doing , Galen!? You are probably right.........I was just
thinking that if the XP was selected on the Themes tab, it would not give
you the Classic option in Appearance. I'll check it out.

Sleep well young man and don't worry - the verbiage from the OP is such that
anyone can be wrong. I'll ping you via email shortly if you don't mind.
Let you know what's going on in this neck of the woods.
