Customizing the OPEN dialog box?
Posted by YaNKee on November 17th, 2005

I would like to modify the ICONS down the left side of the common OPEN dialog
box (where it has My Recent Documents, Desktop, My Docs, My Computer etc...).
Can a shortcut to a favourite location (folder) by put here? If so, how?
Can items be removed from here?

It's called the Places bar.

Edit the Places bar locations in 'Open/Save As' common dialog boxes

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Is this editing capability restricted to WinXP or can it be done in earlier
versions (esp. Win2K)?

TIA

Yes, Windows 2000 has this key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\
