- My Computer Problems???
- Posted by Kamal on February 18th, 2006
My memory card reader is drive A:\ and B:\.
The dvd drive shows the card reader icon while the card reader just shows
the generic removable disk icons. I have tried deleting
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\DriveIcons
but the icon comes back after reboot. I have also uninstalled and
reinstalled the drivers but no luck. If I change the drive letter of the CD
drive the icon still shows the card reader icon after a reboot.
Anyone have any other ideas on how to fix this???

A and B are reserved drive letters for floppy drivers. Memory card readers
should be assigned different letters.
And generally one single NG is enough to get a reply, in future please don't
multipost.

Sorry Cari for multiposting. This is because I could not see my earlier
post.
I managed to fix the problem.
I had to disable the CD-ROM in device manager and then reinstall drivers for
memory card.
