Opening Folders
Posted by tomtom1982 on April 2nd, 2006

Hi

I am experiencing a problem opening folders. I have the default set to open
'folders' and 'file folders' using Explorer. I also have it set to open each
folder in the same window. I can open folders from the desktop or start menu
in explorer fine. However, when clicking on a folder in the right hand pane
on explorer, it automatically opens up a new instance, without a folder pane
- which then forces me to open up an entire chain of folder windows.

I noticed also that if I right click the start menu and select explore (the
default), it opens the 'start menu' folder in the standard (not explorer)
way....(?)

Is there any way to prevent this from happening? (it doesn't happen on my
old computer - also XP)

Any coments greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Tom

Tom,

See if this helps.

Open each folder in the same window:
