- Partioning when you have a recovery partition
- Posted by PaulaDawn on February 24th, 2006
I want to create 2 more partition on my harddrive, but the recovery
partition seems to be stopping me from doing this. I have Partition Magic
and it won't do it because the partition can not be moved. Any way to get
around this?

Yes, back up the image of the recovery partition to a DVD. Then back
it up to a second DVD. (It might fit on a CD, depending on
compression.)
Then delete the recovery partition from your disk. The only time
you'll ever need it is if your disk dies and you have to get a new
disk -- in which case you'll wish you had a copy of it on permanent
media.
