a power user in XP Pro does not get preference changed.

For example start menu, properties, change to small icon, OK, OK.
after that, the change is gone. in explorer, any view or preference change
also disappears

if he is given admin power, changes can be made and stay across logon,
reboot. However, once the admin power is taken away, the user reverts to
totally uncustomized state.


what gives? BTW the user is on XP pro with profile redirected - no error
message. hat whatsoever

Does the user have write access to the redirected profile? Specificly, the
ntuser.dat file?
