- Quick Launch
- Posted by ens on March 29th, 2006
Had to do a repair install due to virus. Now, when I add the Quick Launch to
the taskbar with all my icons, after reboot, it's not there. Have to add it
back. Where do you save the settings so it's always in the taskbar after a
restart/shutdown?

Hi,
Open Notepad and paste the following text between the arrows (not the
arrows) into it.
Click Exit and save it as Savesettings.reg
Double click the Savesettings.reg file and let it merge into the
registry.
Reboot the system.
-------->
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run]
"SystemTray"="SysTray.Exe"

Tried the repair tool. Still no luck. Was another suggestion I tried in
deleting an entry in Regedit, shutting down explorer.exe then restarting
explorer. That didn't work either. Anybody have any other suggestions.
