Right-click a *.JPG file on your PC> Select "Open With...."> Select Windows
Picture and Fax Viewer> Also check the box to Always Open this file type
with application. You should get the slide show option, when you preview
multiple image files. You may need to this with *.BMP files, if you want the
slide show feature to work with them, too.

A while back I used to be able to view my photos in a slide show format
in Windows Exploring. Now that option is no longer available to me, even
though every picture is in .jpg format.
How do I get it back?
