Turning ON XP's ZIP integration
Posted by on September 24th, 2005

I must have done something -- I can no longer right-click send to zip.
I really want to use WinZip, but I can't access that either. So how
do I turn the right-click send-to-compressed file thingy back on
please?

XP Home.

Select Run from the Start Menu:

Type or Paste: regsvr32 cabview.dll at the prompt and click OK.
and
Type or Paste: regsvr32 zipfldr.dll at the prompt and click OK.

The change will take effect immediately, but you may have to restart Windows
for all features of the built-in ZIP support to be available.
