- Users---showing email messages
- Posted by iamcanadian on February 5th, 2006
I appreciate any help in advance.
I have two users on my computer, and I personally do not want the number of
unread mail messages showing underneath my user. Is there a way to turn this
feature off?
Thanks

Hi
Download TweakUI from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx and
when installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI - then go
to Logon>Unread Mail - disable it in the right hand pane.
Otherwise the Unread Mail message can be disabled via the Registry -
navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mic*rosoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\*UnreadMail\[Y*ouremailaddress]
- double click on 'MessageCount' - in the right hand pane - and change
the value to 0(Zero).
