- Windows Explorer default drive
- Posted by AndyC on March 2nd, 2006
I have Windows XP Professional, version 2002, SP1, and reboot my laptop at
different locations all day long. I often must go into a virtual network
drive to retrieve info. Windows explorer always opens to the C drive with
most folders expanded. Is there any way to default Windows explorer to open
to a virtual network drive? On rare occasion, I'm not connected to the
network, and do look for something on the local C drive.

I know there is a way to change that and I'm sure someone will tell you how.
But a simpler solution maybe: Why not just create a shortcut to that drive
and leave it on your desktop or put it in your quicklaunch bar (if you use
one)?

I second that idea that DP said. Make a shortcut to the virtual drive and
drag it to your quick lauch (if you us that).
