- Xp home slow when accessing files on hard drive.

I'm working with XP home edition, I have office 2003 installed. Every
time I go to save a document or try to access a document through any
folder. It takes about 2min for the drop down box to give me selection.
My laptop is fast enough with AMD 64, 1gig, or ram and 80-gig hard
drive. Therefore, power should not be problem. So if anybody has a
solutions that would be greatly appreciated
