2 audio streams causing cracking and popping in Premiere exported AVI
Posted by Masq on October 25th, 2004

I have a short DV AVI (14secs) with both video and audio, and a 2nd audio
layer (a song, tried 2 different songs), when i play the preview in
premiere it all sounds fine, with the two audio tracks playing over each
other, but when i export it to a DV AVI (Compression DV (PAL) on video,
uncompressed audio) i get cracking and popping on the beat of the music
(say when you hear a foot drum, or something equally dominant), the 2nd
audio track was a wma, have tried an mp3, upsampling both to 48khz wavs and
even stripping the audio off the avi and upsampling that and readding it to
the project, the sequence shows me 48khz so i'm really quite lost as to
what could be causing it, i'm only pretty new to premiere so would
appreciate any help, if you need to know anything about my config please
fire away

Thanks
