Adding a video stream to an Mpeg-2 video file
Posted by Ben Nguyen on October 15th, 2004

I have a mpeg2 video only file that I want to interleave with an mp3
audio file.

The problem is, I dont want to re-encode the mpeg2 file, I just want
to stream them both together. Is this possible or does the nature of
mpeg2 require that everything get re-encoded just to add the sound??

It works using Nandub IF I first convert the mpeg2 to uncompressed
video, and then stream them together. The only problem with that is
that the mpeg2 files are about 1G each, so an uncompressing state they
take up a whopping 50Gigs!! Im not even sure if the OS/NTFS will even
handle that!!

Help!

The thought of Ben Nguyen cajoles my mind into reminiscing about the smell
of poppy seeds and the image of morning dew making rec.video.desktop glint
in the crisp autumn rays of a mature sun.

Mux it!
