Adobe Encore disc won't load
Posted by on October 16th, 2004

I purchased the Adobe Video Collection (Standard) last year. All of the
discs installed properly except the one containing Adobe Encore. Looking at
it through Windows Explorer shows nothing on the disc. I recently purchased
the Adobe Video Collection Professional (Upgrade) pack. Once again, all of
the discs installed properly except the one containing Adobe Encore 1.5.
Once again, I cannot gain visibility to anything on that disc through
Windows Explorer or "run".

This is too much of a coincidence. Has anyone else experienced (and more
importantly - resolved - ) this problem?

One more thing on my Encore disc loading problem....I tried it on my other
PC - a Compaq laptop equipped with a SD-R2312 CD-RW / DVD-ROM drive
manufactured by Hewlett Packard. The disc loads and the install menu comes
up on the screen.

However, back on my desktop PC, which as a Ricoh MP5125A DVD+RW/+R DVD/CD
drive, all of the Adobe video collection discs load EXCEPT the Encore one.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Dennis

classic symptoms. Get another drive.

p.s.: If you are unlucky, disks you burn on this drive may not be readable on
some other drives and players.

The Encore softweare comes on a DVD disk, not a CD. You must have a
drive capable of reading DVDs to install it.

Of course, if you don't have not only a DVD player drive, but a
DVD writing drive, Encore itself would find your PC to be a
"show stopper"!
