ATSC Capture Card?
Posted by nick on May 3rd, 2008

As we near February 2009, I am starting to think
about replacing my old analog PCI TV tuner card.
It's a Leadtek that runs with WinFast PVR recording
software. I have never had a problem with this setup
and use it often to record off-the-air shows using a
small set of rabbit ears.

In Feb 09 this will no longer work. The few ATSC
cards I have seen are PCIe or have no coax input
so I need suggestions.

And while money is not a prob, I'd like to keep
the cost down.

Suggestions??

Do you then watch the programs on your computer screen?

So you *don't* want a PCI-E card, just PCI?

Original poster? Man of few words? How *do* you
then watch the programs? Got a long (or short) wire to your
HDTV? Make quick DVDs like me to play in your upscaling
DVD player? Here is a thread you may find interesting:

Unfortunately, the card mentioned is also PCI-E and the reviews
on Newegg are not what I'd call stellar.

I have a Leadtek Winfast PVR card that handles ATSC and QAM. Got it from
Amazon about a month ago. It seems to work. About $70.

$50 Walmart digital converter box ahead of your current analog tuner
