Hi Ken.

The DVD will play in a DVD player and on my computer. Just will not import
into Womble. The .VOB files in the VIDEO_TS folder can be seen in Windows
Explorer.

Some posters have reported success just changing the
..vob to .mpg, for Womble products. This shouldn't be
necessary though.

What I would do is to use www.VideoReDo.com to
extract and join the .vob files of each VTS. (Except
the menu .vob, the VTSnnn.nn.0.vob.). Then feeding
the joined .mpg to your Womble product.

Luck;
Ken

Tried that. Didn't help.

Thanks Ken.

I can import the .VOB file into Nero and edit out the unwanted bits and then
burn to DVD disk, but if I try to import this .VOB Nero file into Womble I
also get the same message... "Cannot open the file".... as with the original
..VOB file. I have also recoded it as a .VRO file with Nero. But no luck here
either.

I do not like the editing capabilities of Nero and would much rather use
Womble which, I think, is more precise and easier to work with.

Should I still give VideoRedo a try? It's not a long home movie and only has
one small .vob file (635 Mb) apart from the menu .VOB.

The friend who recoded the movie onto DVD told me he recorded straight from
the video camera to a disk in the DVD recorder. He said he will try again,
but this time he will record to the recorder hard drive first, and then burn
to disk from the hard drive. I don't know if this will make any difference.

Thanks again
Andy

Yes, it's a free trial download, and it does a number of things
to correct the header data and the timing data in MPEG files.
There is something wrong with the DVD you are working with,
Womble should have been able to use it as input data.
