Hi all,
My apologies for just submitting this question/problem, but I'm just
not "in the know" enough to even know what to search for. I'm
completely new at this.
Quick explanation: I've recorded some videos for which we put in a sort
of sync event - like a clacker. This event happens at the beginning
and end of the video, but occur at different times for each video.
There are about 20 videos in total, each 60 - 90 minutes long, that I
need to encode from Quicktime to Flash.
Currently, the only way I have to do this is with a program called Flix
Pro. I give it the source video and tell it what the output video
encoding will be, specify the start and end points, and let it do it's
thing. This takes about 125% of the actual video recorded time.
That's ok, but there's 20 videos, and it will take a long time to
babysit each one and do it manually like that.
I'm hoping that there is a way to batch the encoding WITH the start and
stop times. Maybe a text file that has the start and stop points (that
I'll get manually) gets read by a script that inputs them into the
command to actually do the encoding, or something.
While this is 'only' 20 videos now, I intend to have more of these in
the future, and it will get more and more cumbersome as we go.
So, does anyone have any thoughts? I'm not averse to buying a heavy
duty software package that can do this, and I'm also open to whatever
platform I need to pull it off (Mac, Windows, Linux).
Thanks much
Gabe
