I have broadband and at times when I watch a repeat of a show on the
networks site, it runs smoothly without being pestered with buffering.
Then I went to Home and Garden to watch one of their demostrations and
it had to buffer every few seconds...why does this happen? What are
the differences?

There are MANY differences between different sources of streaming
video. First there are different kinds of streaming video (Flash, WMV, etc,
etc. etc.) Then there are variations on how well the servers are set up,
and how much "horsepower" they provided to run multiple concurrent
users, etc.

Perhaps the begining of some interesting reading...
