- Can a VR formatted DVD disc be copied to a Video formatted disc on the computer
- Posted by Brian on July 21st, 2005
If a video program is written to a VR formatted disc on a DVD Recorder
can this disc be copied on to a DVd disc that has been formatted in
Video mode?
The aim is to copy a VR DVD disc to a Video DVD disc that can be
played on most DVD players as VR formatted discs can't be played on
most DVD players (especially older DVD players).
Any suggestions on what software to use?
Regards Brian

You might give the trial of TMPGEnc DVD Author a go.
www.tmpg-inc.com if in the USA or www.pegasys-inc.com
if elsewhere.
Luck;

does as well

Most consumer DVD-authoring programs will do this, I think. Ulead DVD Movie
Factory Disc Creator, for example. I think their Video Studio as well.
Another one: Cyberlink's "Power Producer Gold" (Actually perhaps does it
with less problems than Ulead, and program costs less) (I've sometimes had
freeze-ups in the middle of importing a DVD-VR disc with Ulead.)
Both of these have trial versions, I think full-featured, just time-limited,
30 days or so. Go to the web sites and download the trials.
I'm sure there are others as well. I assume that the Nero and Roxio DVD
packages will do this, but I'm not certain.
