- Capturing VHS Video
- Posted by Joey on January 3rd, 2004
OK. I have read countless threads and reviews on video
capture/converter hardware and it appears that the ADVC-100 is the
best one to go with. Now my question is what kind of vcr do I need to
play these tapes for capturing? I have some tapes that are over 15
years old and have deagraded some. I really don't want to spend
hundreds of dollars on a high end vcr if I can get by without it. What
are some recommended VCRs? Also does the ADVC-100 fix any of these
video problems?
Thanks for your input

The ADVD-100 does not fix any problems, it only converts from analog to
digital and reverse. Garbage in/garbage out. If you want to fix the
problems, then you will want the ADVD-300. Details available on the website.

The ADVC-300 claims to enchance the picture and reduce noise from the
original VHS source.
Some VHS recorder's like the Philips brand check the tape on playback
and make adjustments so that the best quality playback can be
obtained.
