Configuration Functionality
Posted by Phoenix Vashtir on March 11th, 2005

Maybe its just me and I am missing where I now need to go but there used to
be quite a bit of customizability in Desktop X 2 for things like hiding all
desktop icons and disabling ctrl-alt-del and user mode etc etc. Has this
been moved to some new menu or just removed altogether

In looking into the older versions, the functionality I am referring, to is
the "Security" Tab that was on previous versions in the configuration menu.

Hi!
Rightclick on the taskbar DX and chose DesktopX Welcome, click "Create" and
when the next windows open click "Desktop" and there it is!!

No, it isn't. It appears to have been removed.

My question for Stardock is the following...

....are we dealing with a program about personal customization or are we dealing with a new OS??? Each time DesktopX makes an "upgrade" it determines more and more what we can and cannot do. They left out the security options (which was a great feature) and they make it difficult for one to switch between editing and client mode (which is something MANY customers use everyday). I'm always having to take time to adapt and tweak new bugs (some are just old-timers which pay a visit from time to time) and new not-so-user friendly interfaces in each upgrade I make.

So the big quesiton for stardock is simple... Why? Aren't upgrades upwards oriented? Haven't you understood by now by all the newsgroup chat and suggestions what final product we, your customers seek?
