- Data rate on drive C: less than required rate - Pinnacle studio 7 - HELP !!
- Posted by Tufty on August 23rd, 2003
Just purchased a new PC (p4 2.6Ghz, 1gb Memory, 160gb seagate Hard
drive....etc) and when trying to use Pinnacle Studio 7 it tells me
that 'The data rate is less than the required rate of 4444
kbytes/second.
Checked the transfer rate on the device manager and currently they are
set to DMA if available but currently device 0 is set to PIO and I
cannot change this.
Any ideas on how to change this to permenant DMA and will this fix
this issue ??
Any other ideas gratefully received.
Cheers,

Uninstall the primary IDE controller from Device Manager and reboot. It
should reinstall in DMA mode.

yes.. you probably are not in DMA mode BUT.. you should not be using your C:
drive to store your data. It should be on a seperate drive

Thanks for all the messages on this. I installed a new/updated IDE
driver and then re-booted and now the hard drive is in Ultra-DME mode
and the Pinnacle Studio capture rate now works fine.
