DVD Lab, from Media Chance, looks like a lite version of a cross between
Sonic Scenarist and DVD Maestro. I imported my assets and transcoded the
audio. Dragged everything into the time line and when I click on play, in
the Preview, I get the video playing but no audio. If I double click on the
audio in the assets bin, it brings up Windows Media Player.

Yes, that's how DVD-lab works. It uses an external player for audio
preview (not necessarily Windows Media Player).
