Final Cut Pro: Final output to DVD, what format?
Posted by Ben Olivier on March 5th, 2004

I recently start using FCP on a Dual 1.8 G5 and I love the program.

I made a couple of DVD's but the quality sucks! I do not know how to
export the file (which format) I live in a zone that uses Pal. And ATM
i use I.DVD on the G5 (untill I get better Software)

Any help would do

Ben

First off.. what exactly do you mean by, "The quality sucks", and can
you be a little more specific? Keep in mind, Garbage in Garbage out..
what ever you put in, it comes out. And.. how do you know it's garbage?
Are you looking at it on a monitor or a computer screen.. things you
see on your computer screen don't exactly show up on your monitor sometimes.

Once you have your time line, and it's all in "Sequence 1", and your
satisfied with your edit, Click on File -> Export -> Compressor.

This opens your compressor program up. Choose a setting such as "High
Quality 60min", and export the 2 files to the directory of you choice.
You'll end of with 2 files, one with the .mv2 extension, and one with
the .aiff extension. Both with similar names. Take these two files into
your DVD authoring program.

Hope this helps.
