- how do i clean an old vhs home movie?
- Posted by nerdz_r_us on October 10th, 2004
I have been converting an old family movie. I have transferred the vhs tape
to the computer and run it through the paces to make a nice looking DVD
production with motion menus and all. The problem is that the vhs is about
a million years old and watched about as much also. Is there any suggestions
on any software I can use to possibly clean it up a bit, maybe even tune the
sound quality a bit? There are tracking lines, bad colour, bad sound, an
occasional timestamp.
I know, what have I got myself into but it is a present for my father-in-law
and I am trying to get a nice DVD of his family for him.
Much appreciation to all who answers.

designed to clean-up VHS (and BetaMax, 8mm, etc) artifacts. VirtualDub and
filters are free...and they work.
