- Minimum loss of video quality ?

Someone has been using Pinciple studio 8 to edit a DV video.
What format should he save it in on the hard drive so that he can copy
the avi file to a CD disk (as it's not a big video), give it to me and
I can load it into a video editor to create a VCD disk as Pinnacle
Studio 8 is not the best choice for creating VCD disks. .
I need to know of a Codec format that would result in the minimum lost
of video quality.
The Codec's that Pinnacle supports for AVI are:
Cinepak
DV Video encoder
Intel Indeo Video interactive
Intel Indo video R3.2
Ligos Indo XP Video
MicroVideo DV 100 5.2
Pinnacle DCxx MPEG Compressor

If the source is DV, save it to DV & transfer it in DV ... no loss in
quality, no transcoding artifacts.

After he has edited the project, output the video back out to DV tape, and
bring the tape to you.
Depending on what you meant by "not a big video", 5 minutes of DV is 1GB.,
so you will be able to put about 3 to 4 minutes of DV AVI on a regular CD-R.
